Good luck to the Dripping Springs High School cheer squad as they travel to Fort Worth to compete in the UIL Spirit State Championships! The squad performs in the qualifying round on Saturday at 8:30 AM at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

The Dripping Springs High School Theatre program will present five performances of "Footloose The Musical" from Jan. 23-27 in the DSHS auditorium. January is School Board Recognition Month! The 2025 theme, "Leadership for Tomorrow's Texas", emphasizes the critical role school board members play in shaping the future of our state. School Board service is a volunteer position with no salary. Trustees are required to complete annual mandated training in addition to countless hours dedicated to campus visits, events and meetings. At DSISD, we want to say 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 to our Board of Trustees for their commitment, dedication and time to our students, staff and schools!

A reminder that Friday is an early release day for all DSISD campuses! Buses will run 3 hours earlier than normal. PK-2nd grade bus riders must have a parent or designee to meet the student at the bus stop in the afternoon.
The DSISD Board of Trustees approved the 2025-26 Academic Calendar at the Dec. 16 board meeting. To reduce the total number of instructional days during the school year, 10 minutes have been added to each school day. On Wednesday, the Citizens' Bond Steering Committee (CBSC), composed of parents, students and community members, held their sixth and final meeting. Thank you to the 40 committee members for their work over the past couple of months to help develop a bond package recommendation for consideration by the DSISD Board of Trustees!

On Friday, the Marines collected nearly 20 full boxes of toys and a $1,500 check from the Dripping Springs High School JROTC's Toys for Tots drive! Thank you to everyone who donated to help children in the Austin area!
Sophomore Anvika Jain has been named one of two students to represent Texas at the YMCA National Advocacy Days in Washington, D.C. in March 2025! Anvika will advocate to members of the U.S. Congress in the areas of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Congratulations, Anvika!

The Dripping Springs High School HOSA program will sponsor a blood drive on Friday, Dec. 13 from 9 AM-3 PM in the front DSHS parking lot. For the third straight year, the Dripping Springs High School Tiger Band earned a top-20 finish at the UIL 6A State Marching Contest in San Antonio! Dripping Springs tied for 17th out of 40 competing bands, earning its highest scores in Music Ensemble (11th) and Visual Ensemble (11th). Congratulations, band!
Congratulations to the Dripping Springs High School BEST Robotics Team, Dripping Logistics, on advancing to the UIL BEST Division State Championships! The team finished second at the area competition on Saturday and won the Judges Choice Award. The state championships will be held Dec. 5-7 at Fair Park in Dallas.
