On Saturday, April 13, the Dripping Springs Special Olympics team competed at the Area 13 Track & Field Meet in Leander. Sixteen athletes and eight unified partners competed for the Tigers, collecting more than 20 medals on the day! Congratulations to all of our athletes on a successful area meet!
Progress on the Sycamore Springs Middle School expansion is moving along nicely! Currently, the following work is being done on the project:
- Site work for the main expansion and courtyard
- Work on the geothermal field for the HVAC system
- Underground utilities
For the 5th straight year, DSISD has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education! Last night, the 4x200 relay team of Cooper Reid, Jackson Mills, Kyle Koch and Croix DaCunha (pictured) captured the area title with a time of 1:29.24. Three DSISD students were members of ATX, which captured the Prep Bracket title at the 2024 NWBA Junior Wheelchair Basketball National Championships in Richmond, Virginia! ATX defeated the Bennett Blazers (Maryland) 38-29 to finish the season 30-0. Congratulations to Will Allen (SSMS), Miles Lynn (WSE) and Finley McKeag (SSMS) on this amazing achievement!

Congratulations to the DSHS robotics team, The Spring Konstant, on tying for third place in the Mercury Division at the UIL FIRST State Championship! The team also won the Imagery Award for attractiveness in engineering and outstanding visual aesthetic integration of machine and team appearance.

Congratulations to the DSHS Winterguard on a third-place finish at the Texas Color Guard Circuit (TCGC) State Championships in the Scholastic National A Red Round category! DSHS went undefeated in regular season competition and also finished as area champions this year.

Congratulations to senior Health Science student Jasmine Zogaib on placing third in Prepared Speaking at the Texas HOSA State Leadership Conference! She has also qualified to compete at the HOSA International Leadership Conference in June in Houston.

Dripping Springs High School is excited to announce senior Brooke Thompson as this year's recipient of the Special Forces Association Excellence Award!
This award is given to students around the nation for scholastic excellence and military proficiency, in keeping with the traditions and ideals of the US Army Special Forces.
Brooke is an exceptional student-athlete and leader who earned this award because of her outstanding leadership and commitment to service. She has contributed 21 hours of community service to local veterans and military organizations this year. She has also served as a co-captain of the DSHS swim team and president of the DSHS JROTC. Brooke plans to attend West Point after graduation.

The Hi-Steppers will present their annual spring show April 12-13 at 7:00 PM in the Dripping Springs HS auditorium. The show will also feature performances by the DSHS Dazzlers, DSMS Tiger Dancers, SSMS Tiger Belles, DSHS Cheer and DSHS dance students. Tickets are available at dshstheater.ludus.com!
With DSE, WSE and SSMS experiencing a high concentration of growth, DSISD will continue to allow a limited number of transfers out of these schools for the 2024-25 school year. More information and the application form can be found below.
