Each January, more than 1,200 public school districts across Texas recognize school board members who play a vital role by volunteering their time to serve students, school district employees, and their communities. School board service is a volunteer position with no salary. DSISD trustees complete required annual training and dedicate countless hours to campus visits, events, and meetings in support of 8,800 students and 1,200 employees. The Tiger Football team faces Austin Vandegrift in the regional final on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 3:00 p.m. at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Tickets are $13 and are available here. Prices increase to $15 on the day of the game. Parking is $20 per vehicle. Gold Tiger card members receive free admission (with ID/card).

One of the projects included in DSISD’s 2025 Bond was retrofitting our school buses with seat belts. We are pleased to report that seat belts have now been installed on 33 additional buses, bringing our total to 66 buses equipped with seat belts. Currently, 90% of DSISD buses have seat belts, including all daily route buses and all athletic buses. Thank you to the voters who helped make this project possible!
