Sycamore Springs Middle School

Construction crews are making great progress on the 18+ Program Facility on Sawyer Ranch Road, next to the Sycamore Springs campuses! This week, the DSISD Board of Trustees toured the facility to see the progress firsthand. Approved by voters as part of the 2023 Bond, the project continues to take shape. Window installation is complete, roofing is nearing completion, and crews are currently installing HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. The project is projected to be completed in late December. We look forward to seeing this new space come together to better serve our 18+ Program students!

Join the DSISD Fine Arts Department on Wednesday, October 28 at 6:30 PM as the DSISD orchestra hosts a Halloween concert, featuring a special collaborative performance of Michael Jackson’s Thriller with students from dance, band and theatre!

Arrive early to explore a display of selected student artwork in the auditorium lobby before the show.

National School Bus Safety Week is recognized each October to highlight one shared priority: keeping students safe on and around school buses. Safety is a shared responsibility! Here’s how you can help keep our students safe:

• Parents: Talk to your kids about bus safety! Remind them to stand 3 giant steps back from the curb, make eye contact with the driver before crossing, and never walk behind a school bus.

• Drivers: Slow down near bus stops and on neighborhood roads. Remember: yellow flashing lights mean prepare to stop, and red flashing lights with an extended stop arm mean STOP - it's the law.
