DSISD has announced grandfathering guidelines for the attendance rezoning that will go into effect for the 2025-26 school year with the opening of Wildwood Springs Elementary and the expansion of Sycamore Springs Middle School. Grandfathering guidelines for elementary and middle school as well as the Grandfathering Transfer Application form are available at www.dsisdtx.us/grandfathering.
Interim 3A grade reports have been posted to Skyward Family Access for grades 3-12.
Skyward Family Access is currently unavailable due to a maintenance issue. The DSISD Technology Department is working diligently with Skyward support to resolve the matter as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience!
DSISD will return to normal operations tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 22.

With the Winter Storm Warning that is in effect for our area, all DSISD schools and district offices will be closed Tuesday, January 21. This closure includes all activities, events, and meetings scheduled for Tuesday.

DSISD is monitoring weather conditions for early next week. A reminder that Monday, Jan. 20 is a district holiday. Parents will be notified via email, phone call and text if there are changes to Tuesday's schedule. Visit www.dsisdtx.us/weather for information on bad weather procedures.

This week, DSISD hosted Taxpayer Tuesday at Sycamore Springs Elementary. Stakeholders began with a campus tour led by Principal Cody Spraberry. Following the tour, Deputy Superintendent Elaine Cogburn and Chief Financial Officer Gina Mitschke gave a presentation on school district revenue, spending requirements, property taxes and how recapture works for Texas school districts. January is School Board Recognition Month! The 2025 theme, "Leadership for Tomorrow's Texas", emphasizes the critical role school board members play in shaping the future of our state. School Board service is a volunteer position with no salary. Trustees are required to complete annual mandated training in addition to countless hours dedicated to campus visits, events and meetings. At DSISD, we want to say 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 to our Board of Trustees for their commitment, dedication and time to our students, staff and schools!

A reminder that Friday is an early release day for all DSISD campuses! Buses will run 3 hours earlier than normal. PK-2nd grade bus riders must have a parent or designee to meet the student at the bus stop in the afternoon.

The DSISD Board of Trustees approved the 2025-26 Academic Calendar at the Dec. 16 board meeting. To reduce the total number of instructional days during the school year, 10 minutes have been added to each school day. School times for the 2025-26 school year will be as follows: Elementary (7:40 am - 3:05 pm); Secondary (8:50 am - 4:15 pm). Visit www.dsisdtx.us/calendar to download the academic calendar.

On Wednesday, the Citizens' Bond Steering Committee (CBSC), composed of parents, students and community members, held their sixth and final meeting. Thank you to the 40 committee members for their work over the past couple of months to help develop a bond package recommendation for consideration by the DSISD Board of Trustees!
