Library Services

Dripping Springs ISD operates a Center for Learning & Innovation (CL&I) on every campus, led by a Facilitator of Learning & Innovation (FLI). Each CL&I serves as an inviting learning space that supports students’ academic needs, provides enrichment opportunities, and fosters a love of reading. At the elementary level, the CL&I also includes a Maker Space that inspires creativity and innovation. FLIs collaborate with teachers to design meaningful learning experiences that integrate literacy, technology, and inquiry across the curriculum.

How Do Librarians Select Books for the School Library?

Dripping Springs ISD librarians receive annual training and follow DSISD Board Policies EFB (LEGAL) and EFB (LOCAL). Book selection aligns with state standards and district guidelines to ensure materials support curriculum goals and reflect a wide range of interests and viewpoints.

What if I Have Concerns About a Book?

Please begin by contacting your student’s campus librarian or campus administrator to discuss your concern. Often, an initial conversation helps clarify the selection process or the intended audience for a book. If you wish to pursue a formal challenge, the campus administrator or district library coordinator can guide you through the next steps.
