School Library Advisory Committee

Duties of the SLAC include recommending:

Policies and procedures for acquisition of materials consistent with local community values;
Whether library materials proposed for acquisition or that are donated are appropriate for each grade level for the identified campus(es);
Joint use agreements or strategies for collaboration between the district and local public libraries and community organizations, if feasible;
Removal of library materials the SLAC determines harmful material or material containing indecent or profane content inconsistent with local community values or age appropriateness;
Policies and procedures for processing challenges;
Action taken in response to a challenge.
All recommendations made by the local school library council must adhere to the library standards.

Meeting Schedule

All meetings are held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Center for Learning & Leadership.
