BLUEBONNET BOOK UPDATE: Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders have been busy reading our Texas Bluebonnet books this year. Keep up the great work, Rooster Readers!
Key PTA information:
Apex Results: The results are in! Rooster Springs GLOWED, and the Apex Glow Run was a major success! Rooster Springs exceeded our fundraising goal! We raised over $70,000 for our school. Over 70% of students got a pledge, and ALL students participated in classroom leadership lessons!
Sugar Shack: December 18th is the day we sprinkle our Rooster Springs staff with love and appreciation. Prepare to bake or buy your favorite edible goodies and drop them off at school. Sugar Shack is an annual PTA tradition where we create a winter wonderland full of good smells and tasty treats. We invite staff to stop in for their favorite treats. Please consider donating or volunteering to make this magical day come to life.
Spelling Bee: Register now for the PTA-Sponsored Scripps Spelling Bee, taking place in the RSES Cafeteria on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 6:30 PM. Final rounds will be held January 15, 2026, at 6:30 PM. Use the study list to keep your brain active over winter break! Open to all RSES students. Register here! Contact spellingbee@rsespta.org with questions. We also need some help for the event. Check out the volunteers page of the PTA website.
Talent Show: Have you heard about the annual Rooster Springs Talent Show? It is always a crowd-pleaser. The show will be held over two days on Thursday, Feb 5th, and Friday, Feb 6th, from 6-8 pm. Talent show previews for acts and emcee's (when students come to school and present what they will be performing) are required and will be held after school on Jan 21st and 22nd from 4-6 pm. Dress rehearsals for the show will take place on Jan 28th and 29th from 6-8 pm (this is mandatory). Please feel free to email talent@rsespta.org with any questions. Sign up on the PTA Volunteers page to be part of the magic!

Campus Volunteers: Check out the Volunteer page of rsespta.org for some *NEW* and recurring opportunities. We’re looking for help with the hydroponic garden in December and Spelling Bee in January. Ms. Henry needs help with daily tasks like reshelving books in the CL&I, and the Literacy Library needs help to keep running smoothly. Volunteers must have a background check on file with the district, but no advance training or skills are required.
