Key PTA information:

  • Join PTA! Your annual membership (only $12) helps fund year-long programs like the garden and initiatives like Spring Carnival. There is *no* volunteer requirement for members. Join today at www.joinpta.org

  • Volunteer Opportunities: The PTA-school partnership offers many ways to get involved. Some opportunities are yearlong commitments, and some are pick a time that works for you. If you're interested in getting involved in your child’s classroom all year, a room parent or garden parent might be a good fit. If you're looking to help as your schedule allows, you might want to become a workroom warrior! These are just a few areas we need help with right away. There will be more! Please fill out the Volunteer Interest Form to let us know what interests you and how to reach you. *Please fill out an interest form for each adult interested in helping this year. Note: If you are interested in Room Parent, please contact the teacher directly.

  • Morning Crossing Guard: Rooster Springs administration is looking for volunteer crossing guards again this year on Belterra Drive during morning drop-off.  Volunteers are needed daily from 7:10 to 7:40 am. You must stop by the office before your shift to receive a badge, sign, and safety vest. Volunteers will have a reserved parking spot in the front lot during the shift. Sign up on the Volunteer page of rsespta.org.

  • Calling Workroom Warriors: PTA is offering two training sessions - August 21 at 1 pm or August 26 at 9 am. Each training session will provide details on what to expect and how to complete workroom requests. If you are unable to attend but want to help, email us at workroom@rsespta.org so we can meet and show you the basics. If you have volunteered in the workroom before, there’s no need to attend this year’s training unless you’d like a refresher!

  • Garden Workday: Come meet some Rooster families and help beautify our school! Join us on Saturday, August 23, @ 9:30 am in the school garden. (Enter through our exterior garden gate - between the kindergarten and 1st grade doors.) We will be pulling old plants and adding soil and compost to each garden plot. Once the garden is ready, classes will start visiting 1-2 times per month during the school day. THE MORE THE MERRIER!

  • Class Shirts: The store is open from now until September 5th, and then the opportunity is gone! The Rooster Springs class T-shirts have a brand new design - $15. House shirts are worn every Friday for the RISE Rallies, as well as on class field trips. A crewneck sweatshirt ($30) is another great way to represent RSE! Order today at Spiritworx.com online store #19670 to have your child’s shirt delivered to school at the end of the month. Your assigned class color will auto-populate based on your grade and teacher selections. And yes, if you have a retro Rooster Springs shirt, it will still work great on color days.

  • Spelling Bee Chair: PTA is looking for someone to coordinate the Annual Scripps Spelling Bee at Rooster Springs, and it could be YOU! Scripps is a National Program, so there are great resources to guide the event. Register the school with Scripps, register students, distribute study lists, coordinate judges, get awards, and host the Bee in early 2026. Can you help?

  • PTA Chair Training: Thanks to all the volunteers who agreed to lead a committee this year. PTA is offering two training sessions - August 21 at 9 am or August 25 at 1 pm. Each training session will provide details about how the PTA works as an organization. The training will include important information about communications, spending, and more. Please plan to attend one of the two sessions. If you are a chair but are unable to attend either session, please email your VP or President@rsespta.org to make other arrangements.

  • Watch D.O.G.S. Launch Party: This is the place to start, whether you’re a new or returning Watch D.O.G.  We will go over details of the program and, most importantly, this will be your first opportunity to schedule shifts that include classroom time with your kids.  Pizza and sodas will be provided, so please RSVP for an accurate headcount.  Tuesday, September 2nd, at 7 PM in the RSES Cafeteria. (Enter via North Gym Doors) RSVP Here!
