Rooster Reminders:

  • Veterans Day, November 11, 2025: We are looking forward to honoring our Veterans!

    • Veteran's Reception: 8:30 - 10:00 am

    • Assembly at 9:00 am.

    • Honor Wall display - to be included in the presentation, flyers must be submitted by Friday, November 7, 2025. Flyers submitted after this date will still be displayed on the Honor Wall, but not in the presentation.

    • Our 3rd-grade class will sing during the Assembly. Additionally, 3rd-grade families are invited to a special evening concert at 6:30 pm on November 11, 2025.

  • Food Drive: Sponsored by the RSES Jr. Lighthouse Team and Better Together Crew. We’re collecting food donations to support our local Dripping Springs Helping Hands organization. 

  • Toys for Tots Donations: JROTC Student-Led Military Club proudly partners with Toys for  Tots and the Marine Corps to help raise toys and money for Austin children. Drop off your toy donation at RSES now through December 1st.

  • Rooster Springs Running Club: Lace up your running (or walking) shoes and join Morgan, the PTA Healthy Lifestyles chair, on the 1st Friday of the month (that’s TOMORROW), Friday, November 7, at 7:00-7:30 AM. Adults and kids are welcome! If you plan to drive to school to participate in Rooster Runners, please park in the side teachers' parking lot.

  • Reflections: Last call! Entries for Rooster Springs are DUE TOMORROW,  November 7th, by 3 PM. Submissions must include an entry form. Reflections is a National PTA arts program where students showcase their original works through six categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, or visual arts.   • Wellness Fair & Bike Rodeo: Rooster Springs Elementary PTA is proud to present the 2nd Annual Bike Rodeo and Wellness Fair THIS SATURDAY - November 8 from 9:30 am-11:30 am.  Check out the Bike Rodeo scorecard to familiarize yourself with the challenges and sign your child up by following the QR code to the Google form or by clicking here.  Come early or stay after your Bike Rodeo time and enjoy the Wellness Fair, where you’ll find healthy snack samples and activities like fitness stations, a scavenger hunt, touch a Fire Truck, and more!

  • RSE PTA Store Pop-up: RSE PTA will have spirit items for sale at the Wellness Fair this Saturday, November 8th. Current styles will most likely NOT be restocked, so get them while they last! 25% off all T-shirts. NEW holiday ornaments $6. TAX FREE this Saturday only!

  • PTA Membership Meeting: Please join us this Monday, November 10th, at 8:15 in the Cafeteria for the last PTA Member meeting before winter break. Note: It is a Monday meeting to accommodate the Veterans Day Assembly. Come hear about initiatives for the year and ways to get involved. All are welcome; only members can vote. If you haven’t joined us yet, click here! $12 affirms your annual support in the PTA mission.

  • Veterans Reception Donations: Rooster Springs PTA is hosting a reception to honor our Veterans after the Veterans Day Assembly on Tuesday, November 11th. Please consider donating items to help make this reception a success. We also need volunteers to help set up and decorate on the afternoon of Monday, 11/10, as well as accept food donations during morning drop on Tuesday, 11/11, and assistance with clean up after the reception.

  • Tiger Talks: Mark your calendar and RSVP! DSISD Tiger Talk: “Eat Well, Grow Strong: Nutrition for Kids and Teens.” Rooster Springs and DSISD Council of PTAs are presenting the first event in a series of parent/guardian education events on November 10th, 6:30 pm at Rooster Springs Cafeteria. The event will be a moderated panel discussion with experts from across our community to provide practical information on child/adolescent nutrition and a forum for discussion of topics like managing picky eaters, supporting emotional well-being, and communication around food and fueling student athletes for future success. You don't want to miss this great learning opportunity - Free childcare and light food options will be provided. Please RSVP and submit your questions for the panel HERE.

  • Apex Fundraiser: The fundraiser kicks off on November 10, and this year's theme is "Level Up"!  We are raising funds for playground improvements at Rooster Springs, AND students will be learning leadership habits that help them grow, lead, and rise through challenges. Stay tuned for updates on how you can support our cause and empower the next generation of leaders!

  • *5th Grade Only: Celebrate your student with a Pride line for $15. Pride lines are 1/8 of a page. Upload a picture(s) and a personalized message for your student. Pride lines can be purchased at the same time as a yearbook or separately. Be sure to order your Pride Line before February 12, 2026.

  • Spelling Bee: The PTA-Sponsored Scripps Spelling Bee is in just over TWO MONTHS! Register to receive the study list--all students are welcome!. The event will take place in the RSE cafeteria at 6:30 PM on January 14th and 15th. Register here! Contact spellingbee@rsespta.org with questions.

  • Campus Volunteers: Check out the Volunteer page of rsespta.org. There are a number of upcoming volunteer opportunities. Ms. Henry needs help with daily tasks like reshelving books in the CL&I, and the Literacy Library needs help to keep running smoothly. Volunteers must have a background check on file with the district, but no advance training or skills are required.
