Dripping Springs High School senior William Mangione tied for third place at the UIL 6A State Golf Tournament, finishing with a two-round score of 144 in a 72-player field.
After opening with a two-over-par 74, Mangione surged up the leaderboard in the final round, carding a two-under-par 70 — the second-lowest score in the field.
Mangione also made program history as the first Tiger golfer to qualify for the UIL 6A State Tournament. He will continue his golf career next year at the University of the Incarnate Word.
