Dripping Springs High School freshman Izzy Crew delivered a historic performance at the UIL State Track & Field Meet at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on Friday, May 2, earning UIL Athlete of the Meet honors after medaling in all three Wheelchair Division events.

Crew made history by securing Dripping Springs’ first individual track and field title since 2007 (Brandon Chiuminetta, 800 meters) after claiming first in the 400 meters with a time of 1:05.51. Earlier, Crew earned a silver medal in the 100 meters, clocking in at 18.20.

In her final event, Crew added another silver medal to her collection with a throw of 18 feet, 3.25 inches in the shot put, falling short of first place by less than one inch.

Crew became the first Tiger athlete to compete in the Wheelchair Division at the UIL State Meet.
