Bilingual/ESL

Emergent Bilingual/English Language Learner students have a home language other than English and are not yet English proficient. DSISD offers both ESL (English as a Second Language) and Spanish Bilingual Programs. The ESL Program is implemented beginning in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The Bilingual Program, according to state regulations, is offered throughout the elementary grades.

Dripping Springs Elementary hosts the dual-language one-way bilingual program for DSISD. Gomez and Gomez One-Way model means only native Spanish speakers are hosted in the program. The goal of the dual-language program is for students to leave fifth grade proficient in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English and Spanish.
