Dripping Springs ISD Athletic Director Galen Zimmerman and Dripping Springs High School Principal Angela Gamez are excited to announce the hiring of David Annen as the new head swimming coach for Dripping Springs High School.
Annen joins Dripping Springs ISD after serving five years as the head swimming and water polo coach for Lehman High School in Kyle. During his tenure, he doubled the size of the Lobos' swim program while leading athletes to set eight new school records and qualify for the regional meet in each of his five seasons. His success earned him District Coach of the Year honors in 2023.
In 2022, Annen launched the Lehman water polo program and guided the Lobos to a bi-district championship in the team’s inaugural season.
In addition to coaching, Annen will teach social studies at Dripping Springs High School.
Annen is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.
