2026 Track & Field Regional Qualifiers

The Dripping Springs High School track and field program qualified five athletes for the Region IV-6A Championships with top-four finishes at the Area 25/26 Meet on Wednesday, April 15, in Georgetown.

Junior Major Bettridge highlighted the meet, setting a new school record en route to claiming the area title in the shot put. He surpassed his previous record by nearly a foot with a throw of 54 feet, 6.75 inches.

In the wheelchair division, sophomore Izzy Crew secured a return trip to regionals, winning the shot put with a throw of 18 feet, 10.25 inches.

Future Ohio State Buckeye Adeline Spies also earned a return trip to the regional meet, clearing 11 feet, six inches in the pole vault. 

Freshman Thiago Valles claimed the final qualifying spot in the long jump, placing fourth with a leap of 20 feet, 11 inches on his fifth attempt.

On the track, junior Morgan Riley earned the lone regional qualification for the Tigers with a personal-best 2:18.18 in the 800 meters.


The Region IV-6A Championships will be held May 1-2 at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio.
