The Dripping Springs High School BEST Robotics team, Dripping Logistics, qualified for the UIL Robotics BEST Division Championships after competing in the Hill Country HUB Regional Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 22, in the DSHS gymnasium.
The team earned the coveted BEST Award, which advances them to the state tournament. This award recognizes the team that best embodies BEST Robotics principles through excellence in engineering, project management, and marketing. It is considered a major achievement because it evaluates far more than robot performance, including the engineering notebook, marketing presentation, and team spirit.
In addition to placing third in the head-to-head robot matches, Dripping Logistics earned five other honors, among them the Judges’ Choice Award, the Exhibit Award for best booth, and the Most Photogenic Award for best robot design.
The team will travel to Dallas for the state competition, held Dec. 11–13 at Fair Park.
