Dr. Mary Jane Hetrick Named TASB President-Elect

Dripping Springs ISD board vice president Dr. Mary Jane Hetrick has been named a 2025-26 officer for the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) as President-Elect, the organization announced at the 2025 Delegate Assembly in Houston.

TASB is member-led by six officers and a Board of Directors made up of school board trustees from districts in every educational service center (ESC) region across the state plus one representative for ESC boards. The board convenes at least four times a year to provide accountability, accessibility, responsive decision-making, and financial oversight to ensure alignment with member needs and priorities.

Hetrick is in her fourth term on the DSISD Board of Trustees, currently serving a third year as vice president following two years as president. She is a 2017 Leadership TASB graduate and Master Trustee.

Active in the Dripping Springs community, Hetrick serves on the Dripping Springs Education Foundation Board, as president of the Foster Village Board, and was co-founder and vice president of Patriots’ Hall of Dripping Springs. She was honored by the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce with the Hometown Hero award in 2020.

Hetrick holds a bachelor’s in business administration from The University of Texas-Pan American (now UT Rio Grande Valley), a master’s in public administration and certificate in nonprofit management from Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM), and a doctorate in public administration and public policy from Auburn University. Her professional experience includes working as an adjunct professor for AUM, Troy University, and Austin Community College. In 2014, she founded a nonprofit consulting business.
