Tiger Band at UIL State Marching Contest

The Dripping Springs High School Tiger Band earned an 11th-place finish at the UIL 6A State Marching Contest on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

This marks the first time in program history that the Tiger Band has advanced to the 6A finals since moving into the classification in 2022. The band’s 14 total appearances in the UIL State Marching Contest finals now tie for the sixth-most in UIL history across all classifications.

On Monday, the Tiger Band competed in the 6A preliminary round, placing 11th out of 41 bands with their show “WaLaLa: Taking Joy Seriously.” The performance secured their first finals berth since earning ninth place at the UIL 5A State Marching Contest in 2021.

The Tiger Band will continue its competition season on Saturday at the Bands of America San Antonio Super Regional, also held at the Alamodome. The season will conclude at the Bands of America Grand National Championships, Nov. 13–15, in Indianapolis, Indiana. A Grand Nationals send-off performance is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 10, at 8:00 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
