Dripping Springs ISD will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Adult Transition Services (18+ Program) Center on Thursday, November 13, at 11:00 a.m. The event will take place at the dirt lot next to the Sycamore Springs campus.

Funded through DSISD’s 2023 Bond, the facility will serve 18- to 22-year-old special education students who have met graduation requirements but require continued services for job-, self-help, and/or independent living skills. Through this federally-required program, students are able to participate in internships, apprenticeships, and paid employment, to prepare them for competitive jobs after graduation.

The facility will be located on the southeast corner of Sawyer Ranch Road and Rachels Canyon Drive, adjacent to the Sycamore Springs campus. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2026 and be completed before the 2026–27 school year.

The program was previously housed in 40-year-old portables behind Dripping Springs High School and is temporarily located at Wildwood Springs Elementary for the 2025–26 school year.

The groundbreaking ceremony will include a brief program with remarks from Superintendent Dr. Holly Morris-Kuentz, Board President Dr. Stefani Reinold and Director of Special Services Brook Roberts, followed by a reception. All DSISD stakeholders and community members are welcome to attend.
