Randall Rau

The Dripping Springs ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved seasoned school finance professional Randall Rau as the district’s next Chief Financial Officer at the April 28 board meeting. 

Rau brings more than 30 years of experience working in public school finance including over 20 years serving for school districts in Hays County. He previously served six years as the Chief Financial Officer for Hays Consolidated ISD where he managed the financial operations of the district including payroll, purchasing, accounting, accounts payable, budget and budget hearings, debt management, investment programs, risk management and fraud protection. He also prepared Hays CISD’s $238.5 million annual operating budget that helped serve more than 24,000 students.

His leadership and expertise will play a vital role in ensuring the continuation of responsible stewardship of the district’s resources, reinforcing our commitment to educational excellence, transparency, and fiscal integrity,” said Superintendent Dr. Holly Morris-Kuentz. 

Prior to his stint at Hays CISD, Rau spent more than 15 years at Wimberley ISD as the Chief Financial Officer and Business Manager and eight years at Austin ISD as an Accountant and Comptroller. 

As the Chief Financial Officer at Dripping Springs ISD, Rau will be responsible for the oversight of all financial and business affairs of the district, including providing financial management leadership to achieve the district’s short- and long-term instructional and strategic planning goals while ensuring legally sound and effective management practices.

Rau is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated from the University of Houston-Victoria with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
