We have enjoyed the cooler morning temperatures this week! Thank you for another fantastic week of learning!  Ask your children about Habit 1: Be Proactive.  Have them give you an example of how they can be proactive. 

  1. This week is DSHS Homecoming! Just a few reminders for this week's Varsity Homecoming Football Game vs Austin High:

*Clear Bag Policy enforced.

*Outside Food/Drink will not be permitted.

* Please do not bring balls of any sort.

 *Please keep handicap sections open for those needing assistance.

  2. PLAYGROUND SHADE COVER UPDATE: The shade covers will be installed the week of October 10th.  We cannot wait!

  3.  Tiger Dads Kickoff - Sunday, September 18, 2 pm in the Cafeteria. This program invites adult male role models to volunteer at CSES for an entire school day. Volunteers help with their child's classrooms, as well as perform other duties around the campus. Signups will be posted in September, and the program will begin in October. Any Tiger Dads who want to help out at school prior to October are invited to help with morning drop-off or afternoon pick-up on any day.

  4. CYPRESS SPRINTERS BEGINS NEXT WEEK (SEPT. 23).  Pk-1sr grade families are asked to jog/walk with their students.  Fridays from 7:15- 7:35, weather permitting, we will invite students to walk/jog the track.  Click here for information.

  5. Today is the LAST DAY for students in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade to register for UIL. Please click on this UIL Flyer to find information about the events being offered and the dates for practices and meets. Register Here by 7:30 pm this evening. We're so excited to get the season started next Tuesday with our first practice session from 3:15-4:00. Hope to see you there!

  6. Mark your calendars for our first Parent University on September 28.  Click here for information.  

  7. We have an annual fee for student field trips and other grade-level activities. The Grade Level Activity Fees are  $35.00 for PK-5th grade Please pay on the District Webstore on or before October 31.  *Camp Champions for 5th grade is a separate fee.

  8. The Tiger Stripes for Staff program is up and running for 2022-2023! This employee program is designed to recognize our amazing staff with weekly and monthly components. Here’s how the program works:  Staff, students, and parents can submit a positive note about a DSISD staff member through our Tiger Stripes for Staff webpage. Each submission earns a staff member a Tiger Stripe! 

  9. CSE Birthday Book Club!! A birthday is a special time in a child's life. This year, at Cypress Springs Elementary, we would like to give you the opportunity to honor your child on his/her birthday by donating a book to our CSE library! Please click here for more information!

  10. Kids Invite Someone Special  (K.I.S.S.) Day at CSE is on September 23rd! We invite someone special to attend ART, MUSIC, and PE during your child’s Essential Area time.  Please bring your ID to be scanned in and plan accordingly for wait times to check-in.  You may RSVP here but will have to show your ID and may have to scan your ID if you have not scanned it this year.   1. CSE PTA Updates - September 15, 2022

 Class Shirts will be delivered to your student's classroom in the next week, and Spirit Gear will be delivered at a later date. Contact fundraising@csepta.org if you have questions.

DSISD Director of Safety Sirenna Cumberland will be at our September PTA Meeting to talk about school safety and security, on Tuesday, September 20, 8 am in the Cafeteria. PLEASE RSVP here - and don't forget to arrive early and bring your photo ID.

Room Parent Training will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 9 am in the Cafeteria (immediately following our first PTA General Meeting).

PTA Reflections kicked off on Monday, September 12 - students are encouraged to tap into their creativity in the categories of: visual arts, photography, literature, music composition, film production, and dance choreography. Local school entries are due November 4, and may advance to district, state, and national levels of recognition. For more information, go to https://www.txpta.org/reflections-participation

 Sign up to help in your student's classroom with Picasso Art Appreciation, scheduled for the week of September 26. During Art Appreciation, PTA volunteers bring a 30-minute art lesson and project to every classroom. No artistic skill or experience is necessary!

2022 DSISD Bond Election is coming up on November 8. We will have Superintendent Dr. Holly Morris-Kuentz and Deputy Superintendent Elaine Cogburn at our October PTA Meeting to share information about the Bond Propositions, on Tuesday, October 18, 8 am. If you cannot attend that meeting, there are also some community meetings scheduled:

- Tuesday, September 20 • 6:15 p.m. at Rooster Springs Elementary Cafeteria

- Wednesday, September 28 • 6:15 p.m. at Sycamore Springs Middle School Cafeteria

- Wednesday, October 5 • 6:15 p.m. at Dripping Springs High School Cafeteria
