Among the projects included in the 2018 bond program were construction of a new Walnut Springs Elementary adjacent to Dripping Springs Middle School, and renovations to Dripping Springs Middle School. As the architects begin to plan for the design process of these projects, opportunities are being scheduled for parent, community and staff input. The parent/community meetings will be held the following dates and times:
WALNUT SPRINGS ELEMENTARY:
Tuesday, May 7, 8:00 a.m., Center for Learning & Innovation
Tuesday, May 7, 6:00 p.m., Center for Learning & Innovation
DRIPPING SPRINGS MIDDLE SCHOOL:
Wednesday, May 8, 8:00 a.m., Cafeteria
Wednesday, May 8, 6:00 p.m., Cafeteria
Parent and community input is welcomed and will be considered as plans are started for these projects. The design process is extensive and also will incorporate input from teachers at all grade levels and from campus leaders. Near the end of May, the design team will report back to parents and community from both schools to share a summary of feedback regarding the project’s priorities, and provide information on next steps moving forward.
According to the bond timeline, the new Walnut Springs Elementary will open for the 2021-22 school year.
