DSHS in Second Place in Lone Star Cup Standings Update

Following the most recent update to the 2018-19 Lone Star Cup standings, Dripping Springs High School is in second place in Conference 5A with 72 points. The most recent update includes results from robotics and soccer competitions. Highland Park HS is first, followed by DSHS, Cedar Park HS, Frisco Wakeland HS, and Aledo HS.
Lone Star Cup points are awarded based on their team performance in district and state championships. The winning schools in each classification will receive the UIL Lone Star Cup trophy and a $1,000 scholarship. Events that are tallied for the competition include: state and area marching band, tennis, team tennis, cross country, volleyball, football, swimming and diving, wrestling, girls’ basketball, soccer, golf, track and field, academics, one-act play, softball, and baseball. The next update is due to be released on May 24 and will include results from: Academics, One-Act Play, Theatrical Design, Track & Field, Golf and Tennis. During the 2017-18 school year Dripping Springs HS finished in fourth place in 5A, its highest finish ever.
