Dripping Springs High School junior Melissa Richardson was announced as the winner in a statewide logo design contest at the Feb. 1 State Board of Education (SBOE) meeting. Melissa was awarded a $3,000 cash prize and her logo will be used by the State Board of Education on future materials representing the Permanent School Fund. The contest, where students were tasked with creating a logo for the state's Permanent School Fund (PSF), had been narrowed to two finalists. A total of 521 entries from high schoolers around Texas were submitted.
