Three Dripping Springs High School track and field athletes concluded their 2023 season at the UIL 6A State Meet on Saturday, May 13 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin. 

Making her first state meet appearance, senior Sophia Farris timed 43.09 in the 300-meter hurdles to take fifth place. Earlier this month, she set a school record in the event with 42.29 at the regional competition. 

On the field, senior Ava Williamson made her second state appearance in the high jump, clearing five feet two inches to place ninth. Williamson set a school record in the event at the area meet on April 19 with a jump of five feet seven inches. 

In the discus, junior Tomsen Vickery placed ninth with a throw of 158 feet 10 inches. At the regional meet, Vickery set a school record in the discus with 181 feet three inches to place second and qualify for his first state meet.
