Five Dripping Springs High School art students earned all-state recognition at the Texas Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) competition on April 29 in San Marcos. 

In addition to all-state honors, Brooklyn Rice was awarded a Gold Seal, the highest state recognition, for her piece. Also earning all-state recognition for Dripping Springs was Katherine Ferno, Isabella Fletcher, Jackie Garcia, and Jacob Pitts. Fletcher was an all-state honoree last year and Ferno was a medalist in 2021. 

Each year, student pieces from DSHS are entered in the VASE competition where they present their work and defend their pieces in front of a judges' panel. The five students qualified for the state event after receiving all-area distinction at the Region 13 South competition in February.
