Track & Field Advances Three to UIL State Meet

Three Dripping Springs High School track and field athletes qualified for the UIL 6A State Meet after finishing second in their respective events at the Region IV-6A Meet on April 28-29 at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio.
Senior Ava Williamson advanced to the state competition for the second consecutive year after clearing five feet four inches in the high jump. In the discus, junior Tomsen Vickery set a school record with a throw of 181 feet three inches on his final attempt to qualify for the state meet for the first time.
On the track, senior Sophia Farris advanced to state in the 300-meter hurdles with a school-record time of 42.29, lowering her previous record by .67 seconds.
The three athletes will compete in the UIL State Meet on Saturday, May 13 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.
