DSHS One-Act Play Wins District; Advances to Area

The Dripping Springs High School Theatre production of “Describe The Night” advanced to the UIL Area Meet after placing third at the bi-district competition on Thursday, March 23 at Stony Point High School in Round Rock.
Dripping Springs qualified for the bi-district event after winning the District 26-6A. At district, AJ Bergeron was named to an Honorable All-Star, while Tony Perrone was named Best Technician and Jamison Malcom was named to the All-Star Cast.
Four students earned accolades at the bi-district competition. Brenna Berry was named an Honorable All-Star, Rianne Bernhard was selected as Best Technician, AJ Bergeron was named Best Actor and Eben Sebastian was named to the All-Star Cast.
The UIL One-Act Play contest is a competition where similarly sized Texas schools present an 18-40 minute play and may be adjudicated by a panel of three judges or a single judge. At each level of competition, a judge awards individual acting awards as well as selecting three productions to advance to the next level of competition up to the regional level where only two will advance to the state competition.
Dripping Springs will perform in the area meet on Saturday, April 1 at 9:00 a.m. at East Central High School in San Antonio.
