Dripping Springs High School senior Julia Trimble earned a fifth-place finish in the 132-pound weight class at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association (THSWPA) 6A State Championship on Wednesday, March 15 in Frisco.

Trimble totaled 845 pounds for the meet after competing in squat, bench press and deadlift. Trimble had the second-best deadlift in the field of 18 competitors with a total of 340 pounds. She squatted 325 pounds and bench pressed 180. La Joya’s Keily Guzman won the weight class with 1,005 pounds. 

Trimble qualified for her first state appearance after winning the 6A Region 2 Championship earlier this month.
