Three performing groups from the Dripping Springs High School band earned Overall Superior Ratings, also known as Sweepstakes, at the UIL Concert and Sight-reading Evaluation on Mar. 29-30 at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center.

The DSHS Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble each prepared three pieces to perform in concert for a panel of judges before sight-reading a piece with no prior rehearsal for a different panel of judges. All three groups came away with Superior “1” Ratings. Derek Woods conducts the Wind Ensemble, John Pearson the Symphonic Band, and Amanda Petro the Concert Band. Congratulations to the students and staff on this achievement!

The event concluded the Tiger Band’s competition season for the 2021-22 school year.
