Eleven Dripping Springs High School band students qualified for the 2022 UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest after memorizing and receiving a “Superior Rating” on their Class 1 solo at the UIL Solo and Ensemble regional competition at Hays High School.

Earning berths to the state contest were:

Graeme MacAlpine, Horn

Daniel Nolan, Trombone

Dylan Saculla, Trumpet

Matthew Sheeler, Bassoon

Isaac Surface, Trombone

Kalle Thomas, Tenor Sax

Harrison Weikert, Horn

In addition, 89 DSHS students and one ensemble earned Superior Ratings on their pieces. The eleven state qualifiers will compete in the UIL state event from May 28-30.
