DSISD Hosts Free COVID Testing Sites

Sept. 13, 2021

Dripping Springs ISD is hosting two COVID testing sites that are available at no cost for any member of the community.

The district has been working with two separate vendors to create testing locations at the former Walnut Springs Elementary campus on Sportsplex Drive and near the Sycamore Springs Middle School stadium parking lot. Both testing locations provide this service at no charge, but those being tested are being asked for an insurance card if they have one. No appointments or referrals are required at either site. Both companies also plan to offer COVID vaccinations on specified days.

The former Walnut Springs Elementary site has testing available through MD Diagnostics Labs Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m., as a drive-through service. Those wishing to test may enter at Parade Way, then drive to the front of the building. Both rapid tests and PCR tests are available.

The second testing site is a mobile pod near the Sycamore Springs Middle School stadium parking lot offered through Grand Avenue Pharmacy. Testing is offered every day from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., as a drive-through service. When entering the main Sycamore Springs campus entrance on Sawyer Ranch Road, those being tested should veer to the left near the stadium/track. For every test, one swab will be used for both rapid testing on-site, and a PCR test.
