Eight Dripping Springs High School soccer players have been recognized as all-state performers by the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches.
For the state champion girls' team, midfielder Avery Davis, goalkeeper Caroline Dill, defender Rylie Flores and forward Sofia Picucci were selected to the All-State First Team after leading the Lady Tigers to their first state title in program history with a 27-1-1 record. All four players also were named to the UIL State All-Tournament Team, with Dill garnering MVP honors for her performance in the state championship tournament.
In addition, Head Coach Bailee Perrine and Assistant Coach Kim Harlow were named the Region IV-5A Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year, respectively.
Defender Jair Ortega headlined DSHS boys’ all-state selections by receiving first-team honors. Midfielder Adam Knutson and forward Ethan Roberts were selected to the second team, while forward Gabe Molander earned honorable mention. The Tigers advanced to the regional semifinals with a 23-1-3 record this season.
Bill Kiaune was named the Region IV-5A Assistant Coach of the Year to round out the honorees.
