SSMS Student Wins Middle School Category in National Essay Contest

RhodesSycamore Springs Middle School student Caroline Rhodes won first place in the middle school category for the National Center for State Court’s (NCSC) 2021 Civics Education Essay Contest.

 

Rhodes’ essay was selected among 1,826 entries by Texas Chief Justice Nathan Hecht and Colorado Justice Richard Gabriel. The essay prompt was “What does the rule of law mean to you?”

 

SSMS seventh-grade students completed the class assignment with teachers Mr. Travis Baker and Ms. Kibbie Jensen.

 

In addition to winning the award, Rhodes will receive a prize of $400.
