Tiger Seniors Sign National Letters of Intent

Eight additional Dripping Springs High School senior student-athletes announced that they will continue their playing careers at the collegiate level at a letter of intent signing ceremony on April 15: swimmers Piper Guinn, Isabella Sites and Quinn Mauck, soccer player Adrian Chiang, lacrosse player Joseph Roberts, football players Luke Lawyer and Hunter Pierpoint, and track/cross country athlete Caleb Lopez. This brings the total number of members of the Class of 2021 who will be college athletes to 22.
ADRIAN CHIANG, Soccer, Gordon College (Mass.)
Adrian Chiang has been a two-year starter on the state-ranked DSHS boys' soccer team. He was awarded academic all-state honors by TASCO (Texas Association of Soccer Coaches), and was named to the all-district first team as a standout defender for the Tigers. Adrian helped lead the Tigers to an undefeated 16-0 record in district play to claim the title. He is the son of Rachelle and Luis Chiang. Coach: Josh Hill.
PIPER GUINN, Swimming, Whittier College (Calif.)
The daughter of Danyll and Mitch Guinn, Piper was a member of this year's DSHS district and regional championship teams, competing in the 100-yard breaststroke. Academically, she ranks in the top 10 percent of the Class of 2021 and will receive an academic merit scholarship from Whittier, where she plans to major in Political Science. Coach: Andrea McCarthy.
LUKE LAWYER, Football, Oklahoma State University
The son of Elizabeth and Cory Lawyer, Luke was a two-year varsity starter for the Tiger football team. He played an integral part in helping the Tigers to back-to-back district titles, receiving all-district honorable mention as a junior and first team all-district as a utility player his senior year. He also lettered two years for the Tiger basketball team. Coach: Galen Zimmerman.
CALEB LOPEZ, Track/Cross Country, Texas A&M University
The son of Leah and Willie Lopez, Caleb was a four-year varsity letterwinner in cross country and a two-time state qualifier. Caleb also has lettered four years for the Tigers in track, recently advancing to the regional meet in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meters. He holds the school record in the 3,200 meters. He will be competing in both cross country and track at Texas A&M. Coach: Marisa Tuzzi.
QUINN MAUCK, Swimming, Oklahoma Christian University
Quinn is the Dripping Springs High School record-holder for the 200-yard individual medley, as well as the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays. He has qualified for the state championships every year of high school. He was named to the all-state first team and served as the team captain this year. The son of Jennifer and Keith Mauck, he plans to study Biology as a focus for pre-med. Coach: Andrea McCarthy.
HUNTER PIERPOINT, Football, Saginaw Valley State University (Mich.)
Hunter was a two-year letterman for the Tigers as they captured two-straight district titles, and advanced to the area playoff round in 2020. A starting linebacker, Hunter finished his senior season with 108 total tackles and led the team in both sacks (4) and caused fumbles (3) while earning all-district honors. Academically, he earned first team academic all-district honors twice and academic all-state honors in 2020. He is the son of Michelle Pierpoint. Coach: Galen Zimmerman.
JOE ROBERTS, Lacrosse, University of Dallas
Joe was a two-year letterman for the Dripping Springs High School lacrosse team. He earned the team's Iron Tiger award for three years and was voted team captain as a senior. Joe also lettered for the Tiger football team. The son of Kerry Roberts, he will play lacrosse at the University of Dallas. Coach: Bill Cafferata.
ISABELLA SITES, Swimming, Oberlin College (Ohio)
Isabella was a member of the Lady Tiger state championship team her freshman year and has competed in the state meet in multiple events. She was part of the 400-yard freestyle relay last year, two relays in 2019, and the 500 freestyle in 2018. This year she served as team captain and was selected as an Academic All-American by the NHSCA (National High School Coaches Association). Isabella was also honored as an AP Scholar with Distinction and a PSAT Commended scholar. The daughter of Karen and Randall Sites, she plans to double major in Chemistry and Spanish.
