Four HOSA Students Qualify for State Event

Of the nine HOSA students who participated in the Area 1 Spring Leadership Conference, four placed among the top three in their events to earn the right to advance to the state competition. Natalie Chavez placed first in Prepared Speaking and Cassie Argento-Bird was second in Veterinary Science to earn the right to move on to state. Previously qualifying were Bailey Inglish, who was second in the area in Medical Reading, and Trevor Burk, who placed among the top 10 percent on the Healthcare Issues exam.
Placing among the top five at the area competition were Isabela Roske (fourth, Healthy Lifestyle) and Audrey Dykhoff (fifth, Clinical Nursing).
The state competition will be held in Galveston in April. Health Sciences teacher Jessica Chambers serves as the HOSA advisor.
