DECA Students Compete at State Competition; Seven Qualify for International Event

Dripping Springs DECA had 12 state finalists (top 20 in state in each event) and qualified seven students to compete in the international competition in Nashville, Tennessee from April 29 - May 2 after competition at the state event in Fort Worth. The amount of international-qualifying students is a record number of qualifiers from DSHS's chapter. Below is a list of qualifiers and their events:
Patrick Englehart - Automotive Services Marketing
Dominic Gearing - Sports and Entertainment Marketing
Ethan Guida - Business Finance
Luc Johns - Personal Financial Literacy
Gracie Johnson - Food Marketing
Teagan Krewson - Entrepreneurship
Riley Wheaton - Sports and Entertainment Marketing
Besides the seven international qualifiers, five other students finished as state finalists (top-20 in their event). They are:

Sydney Hetherington
Kat Ingram
Jackson Kaiser
A record 33 DSHS students qualified for the state DECA competition based on results in 20 different events at the district meet.
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. The DSHS DECA chapter is led by Michael Lemonds.
