DSHS Choir Students Qualify for State Solo and Ensemble Competition

February 24, 2020

On Feb. 22, 49 choir students represented Dripping Springs High School Choir at a UIL Solo and Ensemble Competition held at McCallum High School. Students were asked to learn a solo or ensemble piece of varying difficulty levels, memorize the piece, then perform for a judge to receive a rating. DSHS students received 26 soloist Superior Ratings out of 36 solo entries from those 15 students performing the most difficult pieces qualified for the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition. Three ensembles also received Superior Ratings out of five entries. A Superior Rating is the best score a student can receive.
