Eighteen Students Qualify for UIL State Solo and Ensemble Festival

Eighteen Dripping Springs High School students have qualified for the 2020 UIL State Solo and Ensemble Festival based on their regional performances. Three orchestra and 15 band students qualified, which requires a Class 1 solo to be performed from memory and receive a "First Division rating." The state festival will be held May 30-June 1, 2020.

Band students who qualified for the state festival are:

Hannah Fontenot, Percussion
Anton Miller-Thomas, Percussion
Jason Oliphant, Percussion
Jack Perry, Percussion
Miles Romero, Percussion

 

Orchestra students who qualified for the state festival (all on violin) were: Lucy Elizarraras, Sophia Fisher, and Ian Stinson. Other orchestra students who placed with a Superior First Rating were: Skye Chapman, Ian Stinson and Kayla Stradling.
