DSHS Girls' Basketball Wins District Title, Advances to Playoffs

The Dripping Springs High School girls' basketball team dominated District 25-5A during the 2019-20 season, finishing 14-0 in district play and winning its games by an average of more than 36 points per game. DSHS is 28-7 overall and didn't lose a game to another 5A squad all year. Currently ranked 15th in Texas for Conference 5A by the Texas Girls Coaches Association, the Tigers will face Boerne-Champion High School in the bi-district round of the playoffs on Monday, Feb. 17, at 7:00 p.m. at New Braunfels Canyon High School (1510 I-35, New Braunfels).
DSHS's balanced attack is led by juniors Caroline Gamble (12.1 points per game) and Corbyn Davis (10.4 points per game). Davis also leds the team in assists per game (2.9) and steals per game (3.0). Seniors Kline Stafford, Avery Johnson, and Mallari O'Neal are the next leading scorers for the Tigers.
The Tigers advanced to the regional quarterfinals last year, and are led by head coach David Norris and assistants Jordan Batson, Jaemi Groves, and Brenda Womack.
