Many Dripping Springs ISD students who are involved in 4-H and FFA received honors at the 2020 Hays County Livestock show. Five student projects were named Grand Champions, four were Reserve Grand Champions, two were Breed Champions, four were Breed Reserve Champions, one was Division Champions and one was Division Reserve Champion. In addition, many other DSISD students made the final sale.
Grand Champions were: Caitlyn Alderson in Market Goats, Carson Cook in Market Poultry, Kellen Embrey in Intermediate Arts and Crafts/Clothing, Kurry Friedman in Intermediate Foods, and Hailey Kirkup in Senior Arts and Crafts/Clothing. Reserve Grand Champions were: Hannah Griffin in Market Steer, Stella Hendricks in Intermediate Foods, Rayne Mendez in Intermediate Photography, and Austin Novosad in Market Swine.
Receiving Breed Champion honors were Kase Gardner (Market Steer) and Caitlyn Alderson (Market Lamb). Earning Reserve Breed Champion were Hannah Ballett (Market Lamb), Barrett Collins (Market Lamb), Nathan Powers (Market Steer), and Kelsey Tovar (Market Steer). Parker Buaas (Ag Mechanics) was a Division Champion and Riley Berkholz (Market Goats) received Division Reserve Champion.
