Fifteen Band Students Qualify for Area Auditions

Fifteen Dripping Springs High School band students have qualified for Area auditions, and will have the opportunity to compete for a spot on the All-State Band on Jan. 11. Two bands are selected: Symphonic and Wind Ensemble. Students also may challenge themselves by auditioning in a higher classification, which several DSHS did. Area qualifiers (all Wind Ensemble) at the 6A level are:
Johnny Dollard, trumpet
Kearsen Erwin, English horn
Sarah Galassini, piccolo
Jason Oliphant, percussion
Area qualifiers in the 5A category (all Wind Ensemble) are:
Walter Berthelson, tuba
Jace Byrd, trombone
Wyland Diehl, tenor sax
Quentin Dollard, euphonium
Celeste Douglas, french horn
Kasey Gusella, trumpet
Jessica Heintz, clarinet
Paola Juarez, clarinet
Madeline Lee, flute
Drew Wilson, alto sax
Gabe Ybarra, french horn
In addition, several students were region qualifiers in Symphonic, but did nor adavnce to area audition. They were: Addison Dixon (flute), Madelynn Glass (trumpet), Hennah Hajari (bassoon), Ginger Hudson (clarinet), Elizabeth Nokes (French horn), Caroline Olson (bass clarinet), Reed Pennock (bass trombone), Cameron Porter (trumpet), Reagan Reynolds (clarinet), Jasmine Rolon (clarinet), Dylan Salem (trombone), Matthew Sheeler (bassoon), and Kuiyan Trussell (flute). Madeline Hassell (French horn) and James Lee (euphonium) were region qualifiers for 5A Wind Ensemble, and Sarah Cox (flute) was for 6A Wind Ensemble.
