DSHS Fall Sports Teams in Playoffs

The Dripping Springs High School volleyball and football teams both won district championships and are competing in the 5A playoffs.

The volleyball team has advanced to the regional quarterfinals of the playoffs after sweeping through the first two rounds. In the regional quarterfinals DSHS is matched up against Boerne Champion High School. The contest will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 6:30 p.m. at Fredericksburg High School. Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

 

DSHS claimed its eighth consecutive district championship, finishing 14-0 in district, while not losing a single set in any district match. The program has now won 87 consecutive district matches. In bi-district DSHS defeated Seguin High School in three sets (25-17, 25-9, 25-12) and in area the Tigers knocked off San Antonio Highlands High School 25-12, 25-18, 25-16.

 

The DSHS football team also finished undefeated in district play, compiling a perfect 7-0 mark. For the season, the Tigers are 9-1 and will face Manor High School in the bi-district round of the 5A-Division I playoffs on Friday, Nov. 15, at home in Tiger Stadium at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be pre-sold at DSISD schools through Thursday. Adult pre-sale tickets are $8 and student pre-sale tickets are $5. Reserved seat season ticket holders will receive an email for first opportunity to purchase at $10/seat online by Thursday, Nov. 14; any remaining reserved seat tickets will be sold at the home ticket window. All general admission tickets at the gate will be $8.
