DSHS's 2018-19 Yearbook "Tiger Cry" Receives Honors

Dripping Springs High School's 2018-2019 Tiger Cry yearbook was recently awarded a Gold Medal by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) and received All-Columbia honors in all three scored areas of the yearbook.

 

The CSPA adviser/judge scored the "Tiger Cry" in three categories: Reference, Verbal, and Visual. In all three areas, "All-Columbian" honors were awarded. In the Reference category, "Tiger Cry" received 192 points out of a possible 200 points, in Verbal, the scoring was 390 points out of 400, and in Visual it received 386 out of 400. The judge had the following to say regarding the entire product:

 

"You and your staff have an outstanding publication that highlights the school and community! The cover starts off with the theme and sets the tone of the book. The publication was highly organized and highly planned out. Your staff has taken the time to present every aspect of the year! Your photos were stunning and told the story visually. Beautifully done! Your work is outstanding!"

 

"Tiger Cry" is produced by DSHS Student Media, which is led by teacher Jessica Stamp. Editor-in-Chief was Alexis Burch, and section editors were Cy Bruni, Matt Richardson, Mikey Marquez, Natalie Tindol, and Naya Yarborough. Staff members were Cole Ary, Sadie Cunningham, Gemma Folsom, Rylee Kirkey, Skylar O'Connell, and Ariane West.
