Elementary Early Release Dates 2019-20

September 9, 2019

In order to allow time for teachers to collaborate and plan exceptional learning experience for our students, this year all elementary campuses in Dripping Springs ISD have scheduled four “early release” dates for elementary campuses. On the days listed below, students will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m.:

Tuesday, September 24

Tuesday, November 5

Tuesday, February 4

Tuesday, March 3

Please see the notes below regarding the processes and procedures that will take place on the dates identified for Early Dismissal at our Elementary Campuses.

All elementary campuses will make adjustments to the lunch schedule to provide a lunch time for students prior to dismissal. The DSISD Child Nutrition Department will continue to provide hot-entree items on early dismissal dates. Regular meal fees apply.

Transportation services will be provided upon dismissal at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24 for children who are regular bus riders. Children will be expected to ride their assigned bus to their regular bus stop. Children who do not regularly use DSISD transportation services may not ride a bus. Additional or alternative stops will not be made on early dismissal dates.

Students who are currently enrolled in the DSISD Kids’ Club Program will be eligible to attend Kids’ Club on their campus beginning at 12:00 p.m. This program is not open to those who are not currently enrolled in the Kids’ Club Program; there will not be "drop-in" services on these dates.  Parents of children who are enrolled in Kids’ Club have received an email from the DSISD Community Services Department to RSVP for attendance on the Early Dismissal dates.  The RSVP for participation on Sept. 24 is due by Monday, Sept. 23, 2019.

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that children are supervised upon dismissal at 12:00 p.m. DSISD staff will be not assigned to supervision of children upon conclusion of dismissal procedures on these dates.

Parents with questions regarding Elementary Early Release should reach out to the leaders at their child’s campus.
