Students Represent DSISD at Lone Star Leadership Academies

Six students represented Dripping Springs ISD over the summer at 2019 Lone Star Leadership Academy camps hosted by the non-profit organization Education in Action. Students were nominated by educators to participate based on demonstrated leadership ability, academic success, and involvement in school/community activities.
SIxth-grader Trenton Trotter (Sycamore Springs MS) attended the Lone Star Leadership Academy in Dallas/Fort Worth, eighth-graders Lauren Brunett and Natalee Scholl (SSMS) attended the Austin/San Antonio academy, and eighth-grader Nathan Tyo (SSMS) along with freshmen Priyadarshini Chandrani (DSHS) attended the Houston/Galveston event.
A total of 1,072 fifth- through eighth-graders from around Texas attended at one of three sites. During the week-long, overnight camps, students developed leadership skills while learning about the their state through visits to notable and historically significant sites.
