Of the 12 nominations received by the Dripping Springs High School production of "Anything Goes," DSHS won three Heller Awards for Young Artists (formerly known as Greater Austin High School Musical Theatre Awards). Katie Haberman was selected as Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Reno Sweeney, and DSHS was recognized for Best Lighting Design and Best Direction.
Other nominations were for Best Production, Best Scenic Design, Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Claire Tole), Best Actor in a Leading Role (Austin Harper and Ryan McCartney), Best Costume Design, Best Ensemble, and Best Choreography.
The Awards Ceremony, which celebrates the outstanding achievements of high school teachers and students in musical theatre, is typically held in April at the Long Center. This year the May 31 show was virtual and shown live on YouTube. Several DSHS students who were nominated performed during the ceremony.
