Tiger Talks 2020

DSHS National Honor Society is hosting their annual Tiger Talks on Thursday, April 9, 2020, and we are looking for exciting, informative, innovative speakers to inspire and educate us!  Tiger Talks are based on the same premise of TED Talks “welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world.”

 

Who: Professionals, Community members with interesting careers/experiences/perspectives

               *Previous speakers have included topics such as:

  • mental health
  • foster care/adoption
  • school violence (presented by a witness to the Columbine shooting)
  • personal growth
  • benefits of physical activity
  • witnessing a historical event
  • relevance of Rom-Coms
  • Careers

What:   A 15-20 minute presentation with PowerPoint (to be presented to 100-200 high school students)

When:  Thursday, April 9th (we are scheduling in 15-20 minute increments from 9:10 a.m.-2:10 p.m.).

Where: Dripping Springs High School Auditorium

Why:    To inform, to inspire, to educate, to spread ideas!

How:    NHS student recruiter will submit speaker’s contact information and topic to NHS sponsors by the

             end of February. (Would be helpful to know if they have a preferred time slot or are open).
