DSHS Band Students Qualify for State Solo & Ensemble Contest
The Dripping Springs High School band had a successful outing at the Region 18 Solo and Ensemble Contest on Saturday, Feb. 25, at Hays High School with 14 soloists and three ensembles qualifying for the state contest.

DSHS Speech and Debate Coach Wins Prestigious National Award
Dripping Springs High School speech and debate sponsor Davy Holmes was honored with the prestigious Diamond Award by the National Speech & Debate Association for the second time in his career. This is one of the highest honors a coach can achieve as a part of the National Speech & Debate Association.

Dripping Springs High School freshman Grant Gillum captured first place in the Senior Division Individual Website category at the Cen-Tex History Day Contest to advance to the state competition. He is the first Dripping Springs ISD student to compete in the Senior Division in a National History Day® contest event.

DSISD Weather Update: School Cancelled Friday
District officials have been assessing the impact of the storm on our campuses and area. We have at least two campuses without power, widespread network outages, significant debris at several campuses, and many areas of the district that are not passable for buses or vehicles to safely transport kids to school. We know that many of our families have also lost power and water, and are facing significant clean up on their own properties.

DSISD Weather Update: Classes Cancelled Thursday; After-School Activities To Resume
Given that temperatures across the Hill Country and Austin metro area are not expected to rise above freezing until later tomorrow morning, we have made the decision to cancel school for Thursday, February 2. We will, however, resume after-school activities and meetings Thursday afternoon in anticipation of the rising temperatures.
