Academy Advisory Councils
The Dripping Springs High School College and Career Academy model design is based on the belief that students should have the opportunity to experience a rigorous and innovative academic program focused on their interests, which inspires and empowers them to pursue related careers and to make significant contributions to the global community. The concept of Dripping Springs High School Academies was developed to address academic rigor and relevance of instruction, and to build strong and supportive relationships between students, teachers, and the community.
An advisory council consisting of DSISD staff, students, parents, community members, and industry leaders guides each Academy. The Academy Advisory Councils are a critical component of the academy model. Councils meet throughout the year to review long and short-term academy goals, collaborate with school personnel on mentoring/shadowing opportunities, and assist students in cornerstone experiences.
To apply to be a member of an Advisory Council, complete an Application for Academy Council Appointment and return it to the DSISD Administration Office at 510 W. Mercer St., or mail to: Dripping Springs ISD, Academy Council Application, P. O. Box 479, Dripping Springs, TX 78620.
