Digital Safety Program

As part of our efforts to improve its digital safety program for students, DSISD implemented Lightspeed Systems during the 2023-24 school year.

The first module to be implemented was Lightspeed Alert™. This application helps protect students from exposure to harmful content and safety threats online by analyzing certain student online activity (while on district-issued devices and/or within district-issued Google accounts) for signs of risky behavior. Valid alerted threats will be investigated by designated DSISD personnel in accordance with the district’s student safety policies and procedures. Lightspeed Alert™ monitors activity in the DSISD Google environment; therefore, students who are logged into their district Google accounts from a personal device using the Chrome browser will continue to be monitored until they fully log out of their DSISD account in the browser.

Lightspeed Classroom Management™ and Filter™ followed. Classroom Management™ helps teachers support an engaged and effective digital learning environment. Filter™ replaced the GoGuardian filtering module to help protect students from harmful content.
