Bus Routes

Dripping Springs ISD provides transportation service for our students to and from their residences according to the residence of record. Dripping Springs ISD has several options to locate your student's bus information:

Smart Tag Parent App

Bus information, including routes, times and guidelines, is located on the SMART Tag Parent App. The SMART tag Parent App is designed to enhance communications between the Transportation Department and the parents of bus riders. Parents may see if their child is on the bus and approximately when the bus will arrive at the stop. Additionally, parents may opt in to be notified via text of the estimated bus arrival time at their stops.

Download the SMART Tag Parent App

The parent app offers the following benefits for families of DSISD bus riders:

  • Confirms that a child boards and exits a bus as expected

  • Registers the parent for SMART Alerts, which sends a text message to a designated cell phone when the bus is near your student's designated bus stop

  • Designates guardians to meet young riders (PK-2nd) at the bus stop

Contact the Transportation Department
Please contact our transportation staff by email or by calling 512.858.3500 if you have difficulty locating your student's bus information. Please note we receive a high volume of calls during the first week of school.

*Students requiring special services will be contacted by the DSISD Transportation Department.

Bus Route Guidelines

  • Buses operate only on roads that are properly maintained and considered safe and appropriate for school bus travel. There are roads in Hays County that school buses do not travel on, usually due to road surface, inadequate turnaround or roads that are too narrow.

  • Students are required to use their assigned bus stops each morning and afternoon. Students should be at the bus stop 10 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time.

  • Parents are responsible for supervising their children while waiting at the bus stops and selecting their children's walking route to and from bus stops.

  • Pre-K - 2nd grade students shall be met at bus door in the afternoon by parent or designee.

  • Bus drivers cannot change bus routes or designated stops without authorization from the Transportation Department.
